The Civil Rights Forum on Communications Policy works to bring all Americans into the debate over our media environment; and to introduce the civil rights principles at the core of our nationthe insistence of equality and the celebration of diversity. To further these principles we conduct research, convene meetings, and publish educational materials on communications policy. The Civil Rights Forum is a project of the Tides Center, a non-profit, non-partisan home to hundreds of organizations promoting social justice and a healthy society.
We join People for Better TV in recognition of the powerful influence TV has in our communities, and in the hope that television in the future can become a true public sphere: a place where all Americans can express themselves, and find a wide range of information on local, national, and global issues of importance.
